Forest on Foot, 08.09 - 08.10
Day 1: Today we started camp by reading a book called “Let’s Go for a Hike” where we learned about a boy’s adventure in the forest and even got to follow an adventure map of all the cool things he saw in nature! We hiked to tower that we climbed all the way up in order to look for birds with our binoculars. Then we found the COOLEST spot right next to the log cabin; there was a see-saw, a swing, and even a water pump that took sooo much muscle to make work. Using clay and materials we found around us, we made beautiful nature plates. In the afternoon, we had one motive: find worms! We were all so determined to find as many worms as we could and even made little homes for them.
Day 2: Today we decided that the spot next to the log cabin was so much we had to explore it again. The best part of nature is even if you go to the same exact spot two days in a row, there’s so many new things to find and explore! We worked together as a team to pump some water in a bucket and added things like twigs, leaves, and moss to make a nature potion. We ended the day with a fun-packed trip to the mud kitchen where we used many different cooking tools to make all of the best mud creations.
