Earth Explorers, 08.04 - 08.06
Day 1: We kicked off the first day of Earth Explorers by reading a book called “Let’s Go for a Hike” where we learned about a boy’s adventure in the forest and even got to follow an adventure map of all the cool things he saw in nature! We hiked to our snack spot which was in a really big tent! After playing with some sand and (fake) ants we continued our hike where we balanced across big logs and searched for different birds. Some of us even made a nature potion!
Day 2: Today we became true explorers! We started by drawing out our route on a map of the nature center and created a list of different things we wanted to see. Then, we ventured out! Following our maps we were able to find NEW paths that we hadn’t explored before. We took a break from hiking to make our very own nature plates using clay and anything we could find around us. They all turned out AMAZING.
Day 3: Today was the best kind of day- a messy day! We found a bridge that dips into the water when you walk over it and had so much fun getting our feet wet while trying to carefully walk across without falling! We learned wet bridges can be verryyy slippery… but that’s part of the fun. We let our feet dry (for a moment) before finding a new area to explore where we were able to walk right into the pond! There were so many lily pads and tiny fish to see. Finally, after a little more hiking we made it to the much anticipated mud kitchen! It was SO muddy and SO fun. We tried to decide who got the muddiest- some think Scarlett...or Boyd… or maybe even Michael!
