Project WILD & Project Learning Tree
Project WILD and Project Learning Tree (PLT) are nationally recognized environmental education programs that provide educators with the tools, training, and curriculum to engage students in learning about wildlife, ecosystems, and natural resources through hands-on, interdisciplinary activities.
Project WILD focuses on wildlife and conservation, helping students understand the importance of biodiversity, habitats, and human impacts on the natural world. Activities are designed to build critical thinking, problem-solving, and stewardship.
Project Learning Tree uses forests and trees as a window into science, social studies, math, and literacy, inspiring students to think creatively and sustainably. PLT emphasizes outdoor learning and helps educators connect environmental themes to academic standards.
Both programs offer professional development workshops that support teachers, outdoor educators, and youth leaders in bringing environmental education to life in classrooms and outdoor settings. Participants leave with ready-to-use activities (two comprehensive curriculum guides) and strategies to nurture curiosity, environmental literacy, and a love for nature in learners of all ages.
