Volunteer Day @ Earth Day Celebration

Morning: Volunteer Stewardship

Choose a session to volunteer at the Nature Center:

  • Session #1 @ 8am-10 am

  • Session #2 @ 10am-12pm

Activities per session (15 persons per session and per activity):

  • Invasive Plant Pull

Volunteers will work together to remove invasive plant species from a designated spot within the Johnson Nature Center. Gloves, loppers, and root jacks are available for use in limited supply to aid in this activity.

  • Plant Rejuvenation and Roadside Clean-up

In this session, teams will use a variety of gardening and management tools to help tidy the front spaces of the Nature Center. This may include removing weeds around protected native plants, removing trash and litter along the side of Franklin Road, and removing low-lying invasive plants by hand.

  • Trail Management

Volunteers will help assist in the laying and spreading of wood chips on various stretches of trails within the Nature Center.
