Staff Spotlight: Meet Cathy

Cathy Wesley

Please help us welcome Cathy to the guide team! She started here in March of this year, and she couldn’t be more excited! Cathy grew up in Lapeer county and was always outside in the woods.

After high school she attended the University of Michigan and earned a Bachelors of Science in Wildlife Biology. Her desire to share the outdoors with others led her to work as a naturalist at Seven Ponds Nature Center, the same nature center she went to on school fields trips as a child.

Her most embarrassing moment on the trails was when she was leading a group and bird poop fell on her face. If Cathy could be any animal it would be an octopus, because they spend all their time in the ocean and have amazing color-changing abilities. Come say “hi” next time you see her out on the trails!
